Right in the heart of downtown Santa Ana is an abandoned art school. It’s quite difficult to find information about this place online. Apparently there was a restoration in 2007, but clearly something happened shortly thereafter given its current state.
I tried to go in one afternoon but became nervous about the police sitting outside, so I determined I would go back at 5am when the guard would be gone and/or asleep. There was still a guard. And said guard was not asleep. I attempted to communicate with the police guy but it was difficult, so I gave up and just walked in. He didn’t stop me, so apparently we communicated this was fine.
The abandoned art school is a beautiful building, but sadly there are not many visible remnats of the art (I was imagining like, ripped canvases and open paint tubes littering the ground).
